Let’s shape an audiovisual story.
Words of Amber is an audiovisual interpretation of Ólafur Arnalds’ composition, performed on electric harp with pedals and effects. The video and animation were created and produced by Nina Doevendans, with sound recording and production by Pieter-Jan Buelens.
BLUE is a contemplative audiovisual installation built around a single looping video and an original soundscape composed by Pieter-Jan Buelens. The work invites visitors into a slow, immersive state, where time feels suspended and the mind settles into stillness.
It has been exhibited at Bank Delen during Museum Night Antwerp, offering audiences a moment of quiet introspection within the city’s vibrant cultural flow.
Transcendence is a three-channel audiovisual installation composed of looping animated projections and an immersive soundscape by Pieter-Jan Buelens. Shown inside a crypt in Palermo during the Manifesta Biennale, the work transforms the space into a quiet, contemplative zone, inviting visitors to drift beyond the physical and into a more meditative state.
As part of Cera’s Unforgettable Together campaign, which raises awareness for a more dementia-inclusive society, Luka Cruysberghs created a special song titled Zolang We Samen Zijn. Inspired by her own experience with her grandmother, the piece reflects the deep bond between people living with dementia and their loved ones.
For this project – commissioned by Cera – I created the animated lyric video accompanying the song, which Luka performed live during Cera’s annual general meeting. An event for which our Vertigo Creative Studio provides the visual design each year.
Space is a two-part series in which Nina explores the intersection of illustration and texture. Each piece blends delicate detail with layered digital surfaces, creating abstract worlds that feel both intimate and expansive.
Dare To Be Different is a digitally crafted stop-motion animation that reflects one of Nina’s favorite techniques to work with. By shaping motion in a stylized, stepwise way, she creates a textured, tactile visual world that feels both playful and expressive.
Live Harp Performance & Visuals is a full-length solo show in which Nina brings together her electro-acoustic pedal harp, immersive visuals, and animation. Each piece is paired with custom-made imagery shaped to reflect its atmosphere: from gentle motion to expansive, dreamlike worlds.
The performance features music by composers such as Einaudi, Yann Tiersen and Yiruma, with several pieces performed together with a vocalist. The result is a layered, audiovisual experience where sound and image move as one.

The animated film ‘Bird of the Belgian presidency’ is a compilation of fragments from the five former animated films. In that way, it forms a calling card representing Belgium’s artistic contributions on the European stage. The film itself also includes the symbolic elements that appeared in its predecessors, including the egg, the firefly and the bird, a symbol that can also be found on the commemorative coin issued to mark the Belgian presidency.
Just like the first film, Birth of the Belgian presidency, this one begins with an egg that emerges: the Belgian presidency is born. A bird’s eye view surveying the work of a number of Belgian artists then references the themes used to mark the subsequent months of the presidency. Whether those themes involve sustainability, the rule of law or democracy, each of them in its own way involves aspects of change in the world. The film then ends with an image of a dove spreading its wings and flying powerfully out of the nest. The next egg is then ready to emerge: Belgium handed overt the baton of the presidency to Hungary, the new legislature with new members of the European Parliament, the start of a new season, Summer break, …
