Nina Doevendans is a multidisciplinary audiovisual artist and electric harpist from the Netherlands, based in Belgium. Her work blends visual storytelling, music, and interactive design into atmospheric experiences shaped by texture, movement, and emotion.

Nina Doevendans is an artist and audiovisual creator from Tilburg, the Netherlands. Her artistic path began with music; she has played the harp since childhood and won the Rotary Young Talent Competition in 2012. Visual art soon became just as important, leading her to study Illustrative Design at Sint Lucas in Antwerp.
During her studies, she joined Vertigo Creative Studio as an intern. What started as a learning opportunity evolved into a long-term collaboration, and she now co-owns the studio with her business partner, focusing on work that merges design, animation, video and interactivity.
The harp remains central in her creative practice, though approached in a contemporary and unconventional way. She primarily plays electric harp, exploring meditative soundscapes, atmospheric textures, and audiovisual storytelling. On her YouTube channel, she shares harp pieces that weave musical expression with visual aesthetics.
Nina is a creative all-rounder, and she embraces that fully. Her work moves across disciplines, driven by curiosity, emotion, and a desire to craft experiences that resonate long after they’re seen or heard.
Creative Approach
Nina’s practice moves fluidly across disciplines. She combines animation, illustration, electric harp and interactive design to create work that bridges emotion and atmosphere. Whether she’s crafting a visual world, shaping a soundscape, or building an interactive experience, her process is rooted in intuition, curiosity, and storytelling through both sound and image.
The Harp
While the harp is her musical foundation, Nina approaches it in a contemporary way. Through electric harp, effects, pedals, and layered textures, she explores sound as a sculptural medium. Her work often blends music with visuals, performing as both musician and audiovisual storyteller.
